ABOUT THE DERBY BOYS

Brothers Ken and Shaun McKiernan got their start singing in the illustrious "McKiernan Family Singers" which dominated the Nursing Home circuit each March in the late 1970's and early 80's... "The group broke up when Mom and Dad realized that America just wasn't ready for the Jackson 5 to have some serious competition," says Ken McKiernan...

Ken and Phil Gatton are members emeritus of the Atherton High School Rebel marching band... "They've played at wakes and weddings and at several fancy balls" says Uncle Yulius, a long-time fan.

Ken and Shaun's cousin Pat McKiernan is an accomplished guitarist.  He and Shaun started doing Irish music together for the annual AOH St. Patrick's Parade. They've all been cousins for nearly 30 years!  All of the Derby Boys are graduates of Atherton High School!

The Inspiration for our hats...

Some might think we wear these hats because of the KY DERBY which takes place in our hometown, but they'd be wrong... it's all about our admiration for Lucky of the Lucky Charms Cereal fame...

Some Hibernians...

Some of the Hibernians at a monthly meeting... Pat, Ken, and Shaun are all members of the AOH.

Is that Ireland?

this picture came with the website... I think it's Italy, actually.

From Humble Beginnings

Ken, in suspenders, is #7, Shaun is #9.  Notice how Bob, #8, is never in full view... this picture was taken several years after their "retirement," so no uniforms!
