What's a Hibernian? The Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) is the oldest and largest Irish group in America. In Louisville, we run the St. Patrick's Parade & Coloring Contest. Our roots go back over 300 years to groups in Ireland of the same name. (Hibernia is Latin for Ireland)

Message from the President

Thanks for Logging onto the website of The Father Abram J. Ryan Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. The oldest Irish Catholic mens faternal organization in America. It's with great pride that we bring you the St. Patrick's Day parade every year. This year being no exception. 2010 looks to be a great parade with an even greater theme. Hooley in the Highlands. Hooley being the Irish word for party. If you have never been a part of our yearly experiance  this would be a perfect time to come celebrate with us and be Irish for a day. I hope to see as many people there as can make it. So mark March 13 2010 on your calenders and come out to see us. Be sure to look me up and say Hi!

Slainte,

Mark J. Wakefield,  President

Be sure to take a look at the Bloody Monday memorial marker in W. Louisville that we helped unveil in Aug. 06. It's an important part of our Irish-American and local history, for sure.
