The Blessing of the Beer and the Tapping of the Keg ( if you see a picture without a caption or an incorrect caption let us know so we can change it )

The Blessing of the Beer and the Taping of the Keg has become a favorite tradition of the Hibernians and our friends and parade supporters.

It starts with a tour of the Bluegrass Brewing Company's brewery. Everyone shows up around 5 or so (Irish time you understand) at the BBC on Main And Clay.

Our good friends and sponsors at the BBC brew a special keg of bourbon barrel stout for us thats been aging for 5 years or so. Yummy! Our own Father Joe Fowler is good enough to bless all the kegs used at O'shea's on Baxter for the parade celebration.

We then take the keg to O'Shea's where we march it in behind a piper and all the Hibernians in single file this is where our Tapping of the Keg party is held.

May thanks to O'Shea's and the BBC for making this pre-parade event as popular as it has become.

Hope to see everyone there and share a pint with the Hibernians.
